The New York Yankees have appeared to be the strongest team this season, with an impressive 33-15 win-loss record. However, the Bombers had to deal with two consecutive losses against the Tampa Bay Rays as they reached Memorial day with bittersweet moments. The Yankees are on top of the American League East division and have put the best record in the junior circuit.
Recently, the Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge opened up about the team\’s progress after the team\’s 4-2 loss against the Rays. Talking about the recent losses, Judge told that the Bombers had got a bad taste in their mouths. The 2017 Rookie of the year mentioned that every player is ready and motivated to go out and perform every single day. The team has played 24 games in the last 23 days, and Judge was happy about the off day. However, he claimed that his teammates were ready to go and hungry for more wins. Aaron added, \”I know it\’s been quite a few games in a row, but we\’ve got a lot to prove.\”
Judge Happy About The Yankees Being In The First Place
The 3-time All-Star was thrilled with how the Yankees have performed this season. Judge said that the Boners were in the first place, and that is what matters to him. He feels that the first position is better than the second for sure. The Yankees\’ right fielder was confident about the Pinstripers roster and appreciated the efforts put by the boys during the first two months. He further pointed out that a couple of injuries in recent times have caused a little trouble for the Yankees. However, Aaron assured me that the injuries would not change what the team is about and what they are capable of.
The Yankees have looked solid despite dealing with a series of injuries recently. However, they have still managed to deliver in all departments, especially in defensive positions like shortstop and catcher. Moreover, the Bronx Bombers have a rotation ERA of 2.83, which is the best in the American League. Their Bullpen ERA of 3.15 is the third best in the league. The Yankees have also scored the third-highest runs in the AL, with an average of 4.6 runs per game.
No doubt, Judge has been in incredible form this summer. He is hitting over .300(.309/.376/.669) and has hit 18 home runs so far, which is the most in the league currently. The Yankees will look to get back to winning ways after losing a couple of games against the Rays recently, as they continue to move ahead during a very strong season.
