Los Angeles Lakers’ struggles this season is second to none. After having a terrible start, the purple and gold got back on their feet, thanks to LeBron “King” James. However, the club is back on a downhill after losing three games in a week by the narrowest of margins. Their latest loss came last night against Sacramento Kings. The Kings took eight crucial points during the final minutes that cost the Lakers the game. With this, the team has again slipped to the 13th position in the Western Conference points table.

The playoff berth is getting far from the Lakers’ reach with every single game. Sdly, the repeated choking into the final quarter is badly damaging the team’s results. Meanwhile, LeBron James faced the media after the game. James spoke about the loss and listed the team’s limitations. Moreover, he even had a message for his boys going forward in the tournament.

Thursday night ended on a bad note for the LA Lakers. After playing well in the first three quarters, the purple and gold choked in the final minutes and let the game slip away. However, LeBron James yet again delivered a 30+ points performance. But, as usual, washed down the drain as the team couldn’t win. James, this season has delivered multiple 30+ points and four 40+ points performances which mostly have ended up on a losing note. Hence, it is evident that the lack of support from the other end has sunk the Lakers’ ship.

While speaking to the media after the game, LeBron James admitted that the absence of a few key players is hurting the team badly. Moreover, James added that when you have such a situation where your big names are missing, playing mistake-free Basketball becomes crucial. Hence, the 38-year-old urged his teammates not to make any errors or mistakes going forward in the tournament or until the big guys are back on the court.

“We are limited with bodies,” admitted LeBron James

As LeBron James said earlier, the Lakers have limited bodies on the court. Understandably, James is frustrated as even after putting all his heart as a 38-year-old, the lack of support is hurting the team. The Lakers lost Anthony Davis, who was playing at an MVP level, in mid-December. AD suffered a foot injury which is taking a long while to heal. However, a few reports did come in that he is recovering and practicing, but nothing substantial outcome has come forward.

Hence, without AD, LeBron James is left alone on one end. Moreover, Lonnie Walker IV, too, got injured around the same time and has been missing in action ever since. For the Lakers to even stand a chance at playoff from hereon, they need their key players back in as soon as possible. For now, the goal looks far-fetched and, to be honest, nearly impossible to achieve. But it’s the Lakers. So never say never.
