A few clips from New York Yankees’ spring training session show Luis Severino deceiving multiple top hitters with top-notch pitches.

New York Yankees have begun their spring training sessions. The majority of the roster has reported for the session barring a few injury concerns. The team is doing a full squad workout along with individual practice sessions. Furthermore, a few journalists are stationed outside George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida, capturing a few glimpses of the training session.

A few shots of the Yankees pitching practice are being shared on Twitter. The videos featured the Bombers’ 29-year-old pitcher, Luis Severino. The right-handed pitcher for the New York Yankees has been turning heads with his impressive performances on the mound. After missing out on a lot of action due to injuries, Luis is back with a bang this year.

New York Yankees pitcher Luis Severino burst onto the scene in 2017 after finishing third in the American League Cy Young Award voting. However, his stay was short-lived as the pitcher dealt with repeated injuries. In 2020, Luis had to undergo Tommy John Surgery which shortened his season. Hence, the Yankees’ general manager decided to decline his request to participate in the upcoming WBC 2023. Lately, GM Brian Cashman said he wants Luis to stay healthy for the Yanks and does not want to risk it by allowing him to play in WBC.

Meanwhile, Luis Severino landed in Florida to participate in the spring training session ahead of the 2023 MLB season opening day. Luis took the pitch against some top hitters and deceived them completely. The Yankee’s top baseman, Anthony Rizzo, Gleyber Torres, and outfielder, Giancarlo Stanton, all of them were strikeout by Luis in the training session. Only the star slugger Aaron Judge could hit Luis for a long run. The fans are impressed with Luis’ start and are looking forward to watching him this year.

Carlos Rodon Disappoints As The Pitchers Take Over Spring Training

Yesterday it was a pitchers’ day out at the New York Yankees’ spring training session. Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodon, and Luis Severino practiced one by one. While Gerrit and Luis were impressed with starting a few rounds, Rodon looked slightly off. The southpaw failed to register considerable strikeouts and often got hit by the hitters.

Rodon’s current run is concerning for the Yankees as they have laid lots of hope in the pitchers. This off-season, the Yankees acquired Rodon for $162 million in a six-year contract. Moreover, Carlos is likely to start second behind Gerrit in the rotation. Hence, his form is vital for the Bombers’ defense this season. Nevertheless, the pitcher still has time to regain rhythm in time for opening day. The 2023 MLB season will begin late in March this year.
