New York Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, acknowledged the competition that the club will face in the spring season and also addressed the left-field concerns.
New York Yankees are scratching their heads in this trade season. Their quest to acquire a potential left-field outfielder seems to be neverending. Moreover, the Bombers messed up big time after letting Andrew Benintendi walk away. As a result, the team is left stranded without a designated left-field choice and is looking to make adjustments within the existing roaster.
Meanwhile, the spring season is right on the cards. With just two months until the trade deadline ends, the Yankees are in a fix. However, Bronx Bombers manager, Aaron Boone, is unfazed by the limitations of the existing roaster. While addressing the media, Boon not only accepted the existence of stiff competition but also rebuffed the left-field concerns.
Aaron Boone Confident Of Making Things Right Before Trade Season Ends
Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, sat down for an interview with MLB Network Radio on Sunday. He addressed all the rumors and concerns regarding the Yankee’s roaster for the 2023 season. Boone initially shied away from speaking on the left-field worries at first but eventually gave in. FYI, the Yankees do not have a proper left-field option at the moment after the departure of Benintendi. However, Boone believes that they can make the necessary adjustments.
Aaron Boone accepted that the upcoming season will be much more competitive than ever. Further, he believes that the competition will help in bringing out the best in their players in the spring training, which will eventually help them later in the season. Moreover, Boone addressed the left-field concerns after a lot of pressing. He admitted that the Yankee’s roaster, for now, is incomplete. But, he stayed hopeful that spring training would bring a lot of positives. Furthermore, Aaron stated that even if the team fails to pick any more players before the trade deadline, they will make the necessary adjustments within the roaster.
“Look, you’re never a completed product, and maybe something happens over the next few weeks,” said Aaron Boone.
Yankees Reportedly Done With The Trade Season, To Move On Without A Left-Field Candidate
Yankees left-field concerns are well spoken off this ongoing trade season. After Andrew Benintendi’s departure, the situation looks grim within the club. Moreover, the bombers are trying their best to acquire Bryan Reynolds from Pittsburgh. However, Bryan’s price tag is causing trouble for the bombers. The negotiations are not working as well since Bryan is not ready to budge.
Hence, they are left with just internal options. The Yankees have Aaron Hicks and DJ LeMahieu as backup options. However, DJ is down with injury concerns, and Aaron has not essayed left-field duties in a long while now. Hence, how will Aaron Boone and the team work around this situation will be interesting to see. Also, Bob Klapisch from NJ.com reported that the Yankees are done with the ongoing trade season and will not be acquiring any more players. Hence, the left-field situation will remain unresolved. This certainly will not go down well with the Yankee fans.
