Lakers\’ LeBron James Says \”We Are Who We Are,\” After Another Disappointing Loss Against The Pelicans On Sunday

LeBron James\’ recent ankle injury is like salt to the wounds for the Lakers, who are having a terrible season due to injuries and inconsistencies. The Lakers slipped to the tenth position in the Western Conference after their 116-108 defeat against the Pelicans on March 27. Shockingly, the Lakers gave away a 23-point lead they achieved during the first half. The game perfectly defined the situation of the Lakers in the 2021-2022 NBA season. Things got more frustrating when LeBron turned his ankle horrible during the second quarter. However, the 37-year-old decided against leaving the court and continued to play with an injury. He scored 39 points with nine rebounds and five assists. However, his incredible performance could not lead his team to a victory after a handy lead at the end of the first half.

LeBron James gave an update on his injury during the post-match conference. He also shed some light on the nightmare season that the Lakers have had so far. With eight games left, the Lakers desperately need LeBron to step in on the court and lead them to play-ins. However, it is still unsure if James will feature during the game against the Mavericks on Tuesday.

LeBron James Shares Insight On The Lakers Performance This Season:

The Lakers are having a terrible season, with 31 wins and 43 losses. When asked about the Lakers\’ performance and processes in the current season, LeBron said, \”We are who we are.\” James added that there is not much processing involved when you know that your team can go out there and score 35-40 points in a single quarter. He also revealed that the Lakers have also managed to hold a team to about 18 points in the quarter.

However, James also acknowledged the fact that the same Lakers team can give away up to 40 points in a quarter during the same game. LeBron said that it is quite frustrating, but it was not like they were trying to figure out something more than who they are. Unfortunately, it is frustrating for the Lakers supporters too, who have seen their team perform majestically in small phases. The team still lacks the capabilities to secure consistent wins. Lebron James\’ massive performances each game has been the only thing going in favor of the Lakers this season. Hence, LeBron James\’ injury is a big concern

James has the highest average of 30.1 points per game in his 55 matches during the 2021-2022 NBA season. He has also scored a total of 1657 points this season. Lebron surpassed Karl Malone to become the second-highest scorer in NBA history. Hence, his return to the team would be crucial for the Lakers, given Anthony Davis is still recovering. Lakers would feel that they have a chance to make it to the play-ins as long as James keeps performing for them.
