Darryl Strawberry, known as one of the most dangerous sluggers during the 90s, won three world series titles with the New York Mets and New York Yankees. However, his career went downhill after the slugger was found guilty of using illegal substances. Moreover, MLB handed a substance abuse suspension to Strawberry three times during his entire career. Darryl retired in 1996 after a four-year stint with the Bronx Bombers.

Strawberry attended a Pinstripe Pride event wherein he talked about the Yankees’ newly appointed captain, Aaron Judge. While lauding Judge for extending his contract with the Bombers, Darryl emphasized the importance of the New York fans in the success of not only the players but also the club at large.

The San Francisco Giants smelled victory when the front office held positive negotiations with Aaron Judge during the free agency. Judge, who refused a long-term extension contract last season, decided to move away from New York. However, the Giants’ world came crashing down after the slugger ditched the club at the last moment. The 30-year-old opted to sign a nine-year extension contract with the Yanks after persistent efforts from the club’s top brass.

Speaking on the whole saga, the Giants pitcher, Logan Webb, said the entire unit was left disappointed after the deal went off. Logan reportedly met Aaron in person when the slugger arrived in San Francisco during the free agency. Moreover, the pitcher claimed the Giants even tried to contact Carlos Correa as they considered him a close pal to the slugger. However, all efforts turned to dust as Aaron Judge moved back to New York after having a month-long USA Tour.
