Five Major Investments That Helped LeBron James Become A Billionaire!

The Forbes business magazine recently revealed that LeBron James has finally entered the billionaire league. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has become the first active NBA player to accomplish the milestone. James has become the second billionaire in NBA history alongside Micheal Jordan. However, His Airness became a billionaire a long while after he retired from the league. As reported by Forbes, the four-time NBA champion earned $121.2 million in 2021, and only half of it came from his NBA salary.

LeBron James has always been known for his brains on and off the court. King James has made some really smart investments over the years that have made him the richest athlete in the world currently. Unlike other big-earning players, James has seldom made any bad investments. So, let\’s take a look at LeBron\’s biggest investments which have made him a billionaire.

Fenway Sports Group:

The 18-time NBA All-Star has a one percent stake in Fenway Sports Group, which owns the Liverpool FC and the Boston Red Sox. James and his friend Maverick Carter invested in the sports group in 2021. The 37-year-old was proud to be the first two Black men to be a part of the ownership group in the franchise history. The Fenway Sports Group has also agreed to buy the NHL team Pittsburgh Penguins.

All the teams owned by the group have brought in a lot of revenue for the investors. Especially Liverpool FC, who have performed consistently over the last few seasons and also reached the Champions League finals this year. James is also associated with the Klutch sports group. The sports agency owned by Rich Paul manages LeBron James. However, there have been several rumors that Rich Paul works for James, but there is no proof about it.

Blaze Pizza

King James invested less than a million dollars in a largely unpopular but budding pizza chain in 2012. The four-time MVP helps the brand open a couple of chains in Miami and Chicago. LeBron earned a $35 million profit for the pizza chain between 2012 and 2017. Currently, he owns 20 Blaze Pizza franchises, emerging as the fastest-growing food chain in America. The reason behind the pizza chain\’s popularity is the customization of pizza and the addition of a wide array of toppings.

Spring Hill Entertainment

LeBron James stepped into the movie industry when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron founded his own production company called Spring Hill entertainment. The entertainment company produced a Space Jam 2: A New Legacy, starring LeBron James, A Naomi Osaka docuseries, and the talk show \”The Shop\”. The production house has also been a part of major projects, including Adam Sandler\’s \”Hustle,\” which will be released in 2022, along with a documentary on James\’ early days in Akron called the \”Shooting Stars.\”

Further, reports suggest that the two-time Olympic gold winner sold a minority stake of SpringHill for a hefty $725 million. Thus, James\’ production company is expected to grow much more in the upcoming years after the King retires from NBA.

Uninterrupted

LeBron and his partner Maverick Carter founded a media company called Uninterrupted. The firm has become very popular in just a few years due to the talk show known as The Shop. LeBron and maverick created a platform to empower athletes, where the sports personalities can discuss their opinions freely on anything and everything.

Many top-class athletes, including Rob Gronkowski, Ronda Rousey, Tom Brady, and Draymond Green, have appeared on the talk show featuring LeBron James. The lakers forward and other athletes meet in a barber shop and have interesting conversations. The show has been renewed for the fifth season and will move from HBO to YouTube.

Ladder

James is an extremely skilled and physically fit athlete in the NBA. At the age of 37, he is playing at his peak and will continue to play even after he turns 40. The King has put a lot of long hours over the years taking care of his body. Bron spends an estimated $1.5 million per year to maintain his body, including his gym at home, massages, trainers, and supplements.

James thought of another brilliant idea in the fitness industry. He partnered with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lindsey Vonn, and Cindy Crawford to establish Ladder in 2018. The health and fitness brand offers fitness and workout products along with monthly subscriptions and personalized plans.

One thing is for sure James will not stop here. Even after he hangs his boots in the NBA, the King has a long recruitment business career ahead of him.
