Aaron Boone Issues Bold Statement Regarding The Yankees Pitching Rotation In 2023, Fans Excited!

The New York Yankees fell short of ending their championship jinx last season after losing to Houston Astros in the ALCS. Hence, the front office, along with Aaron Boone, came out all guns blazing this off-season with an intent to build the strongest roaster in the entire MLB. However, the success rate of that goal will only be determined once the season commences. FYI, the 2023 season is still two months away, and the trade window remains open until then.

Nonetheless, the Bronx Bombers have made some key moves so far. They retained Aaron Judge by signing him in the biggest deal of all time worth $360 million. Further, the Bombers announced Aaron Judge as the club’s captain. The position left vacant by Derek Jeter since 2014 will be now held by Judge. Moreover, in yet another humongous deal, the Yankees signed pitcher Carlos Rodon for a six-year deal.

The onboarding of Carlos Rodon has strengthened the pitching rotation of the Yankees. Yankees spent $162 million for a six-year deal with the southpaw. He, along with Gerrit Cole, is likely to lead the pitching rotation for the Yankees in the 2023 season. Moreover, ahead of the season, Yankee manager, Aaron Boone, spoke to the media and shared his excitement with the fans.

Aaron Boone made a bold statement while speaking to MLB Network Radio. He stated that the current pitching rotation of the Yankees is the strongest under his reign. Boone further added that the rotation, led by Rodon and Cole, had the potential to produce something special. But for that, Boone believes that the two stalwarts have to stay healthy and should get 25-30 plus starts.

“On paper, certainly it’s the best rotation since I’ve been here,” Aaron Boone said.

Luis, Cortes And Montas To Play Crucial Roles

The next pitchers in line are Luis Severino, Nestor Cortes, and Frankie Montas. The trio had a good start to the season in 2022. However, Luis and Montas missed out in the second half due to respective injuries. However, Aaron Boone is hopeful that the trio stays in the pink of their health for the entire season and assists the Rodon-Cole duo.

New York Yankees have been experiencing a championship drought since 2009. One of the oldest and most successful teams in Major League Baseball has fallen short of that title on multiple occasions. Despite having a star-stubbed rotation last season, they lost to Astros in ALCS. However, the Bombers are serious this season about breaking the jinx and finally giving the fans something to cheer about.
