Aaron Judge is arguably one of the biggest names in baseball currently. The New York Yankees captain is a flawless slugger and an ideal leader in the clubhouse. He shattered the record, became a fan favorite, and backed the team in its it’s worst days. What more would a franchise want from its top player?
However, last year, the Yankees captain’s integrity towards the divine sport of baseball was questioned during a series game against Toronto Blue Jays. Aaron Judge was indirectly accused of stealing signs by Blue Jays commentators, which caused a huge controversy. Hours later, Judge responded to the allegation in style.
Aaron Judge Mocked Blue Jays With Savage Celebration After Cheating Allegation
Last season, the New York Yankees clashed with the Blue Jays in an exciting matchup. However, the game grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons. Yankees captain Aaron Judge slammed a home run off reliever, Jay Jackson. But before Jackson’s pitch, Judge glanced to his right, which made the Blue Jays color commentary team of Buck Martinez and Dan Schulman believe that something wasn’t right. The duo implied that Judge was perhaps stealing signs. And received help from the dugout over the incoming pitches. However, Judge denied the cheating accusations. He said he was annoyed by the fuss as he did nothing unlawful. Judge added that he was baffled to see why his harmless glance was a matter of big concern in MLB. “If their broadcasters want to make a deal about it, they can say anything they want,” said Judge.
Aaron Judge said that he had some strong choice of words to respond to the cheating allegations. But would like to keep it to himself. Later, the Yankees captain sought redemption and mocked the Blue Jays with a savage celebration. After hitting a bomb in the next game, Judge closed his eyes and raised his hand while covering the bases to mock the Blue Jays. He signaled how he could take on the Jays any day, even with his eyes closed. The entire controversy perpetuated longer than it should have. Moreover, the Blue Jays coach’s conspiracy claim further added fuel to the fire. But Judge maintained his calm, and the whole team backed him, especially manager Aaron Boone. “Nothing that went on last night was against the rules,” Boone said. Overall, the cheating stir was made out of nothing just to distract the Yankees, who were bossing the matchup.
Judge Confirms Injured Toe Needs Maintenance
New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge is gearing up for a rebound season this year. However, the gruesome toe injury concerns are still hovering at the back of his mind. Judge admitted earlier this month that his injured toe would require maintenance for the rest of his career.
“Anything with injuries like that, you just got to stay on top of it so it doesn’t flare up again,” said Judge. However, the Yankees captain confirmed that injury won’t bother him this year. As long he manages his workload around the concerned area, it shouldn’t flare up. Overall, Aaron Judge is confident of a strong season this year.
