The New York Yankees have made a new signing ahead of the next season of the American Baseball League. They signed the left-hand pitcher, Carlos Rodon, in a six-year deal.
After days of speculations, the New York Yankees have formally announced the signing of Carlos Rodon. The left-hand pitcher will join the Yankees in a six-year deal with a full no-trade clause. Apparently, the deal will cash out a massive $162 million for the southpaw. Moreover, this is the second-highest deal the Yankees have ever laid out for a pitcher.
Carlos Rodon started his career with Chicago White Sox. However, after battling with consistent injuries, he moved on with San Francisco Giants in a two-year contract. Despite having a good season with the Giants, the southpaw decided to opt out of the second year of the contract and entered the free-agent market. Now, the Yankees have managed to get hold of the pitcher and added him to their star-stubbed rotation.
Cameron Maybin Believes Rodon Is The Guy For The Bombers
Reactions have been coming in on the Yankee’s fresh signing. And looks like former outfielder Cameron Maybin is highly impressed with Carlos Rodon. He feels that Rodon is special and the perfect guy for the Yankees. Maybin further added that the pitcher has a special ability to pitch at the top of the zone. His pitch is so good that the opposition can do nothing about it.
Maybin says that Carlos Rodon has the ability to pull out the team from the most difficult situations, which is what the Yankees need at the moment. On top of that, Rodon can blend in finely with Gerrit Cole and Nestor Cortes in the lineup. Maybin also feels Rodon could be the one to get the New York Yankees that championship title and end the 13-year-long waiting game.
“I think this guy Carlos is special,” said Cameron Maybin.
Can The New York Yankees Finally Cross The Finish Line?
One of the top teams of MLB, the New York Yankees, has been waiting for a championship title since 2009. They have stayed at the top of the league for most of the years yet failed to cross the finish line. In 2022, they reached the ALCS but fell short and were yet again knocked out by the Houston Astros.
However, the Yankees are looking good for the upcoming season with the re-signing of Aaron Judge and the addition of Carlos Rodon. It is safe to say that they might have the chance to turn things around. However, the move to bring in Rodon might prove to be a gamble for the Yankees as the southpaw is entering his 30s, and that raises the question of his durability and fitness.
