The LA Lakers stepped on the court to face the Miami Heat for the final time without their big 4s. In a massive setback, ace Lakers star LeBron James had to sit out for this fixture owing to a sore ankle. On top of that, Anthony Davis has already been sitting out for the past few matches due to an aggravated foot injury. Hence, the young guns of the Lakers had to step up in the legends’ absence.

The onus was on Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder to lead the team. And they lived up to the expectation and defeated the Heat in a close encounter. The Lakers won with a scoreline of 112-109. Dennis Schroder remained the leading scorer with 32 points in total, whereas Westbrook played a supporting role with 21 points. Moreover, under fire, Russell Westbrook spoke to the media after the win and expressed his joy.

On the other hand, the Lakers are finally back on the winning track. However, the playoff race is still long and tedious. They maintain their position at the 12th spot on the Western Conference table with 17 wins. Furthermore, the Lakers need their ace dominator, LeBron James, back, as they are already a man down after Anthony Davis was ruled out indefinitely due to a foot injury.
