Hal Steinbrenner Hints At The Yankees To Pay High Money For Aaron Judge!

The New York Yankees\’ owner, Hal Steinbrenner, promises the team\’s supporters that he will do all in his ability to re-sign All-Star Aaron Judge. After rejecting a seven-year, $213.5 million contract extension offer from the Yankees prior to the season\’s start, Judge is a free agent and is now free to sign with any team. In the recent interview, Steinbrenner disclosed that he had spoken to Aaron Judge several times. And that they had developed a great rapport. The conversation between Hal and Aaron Judge occurred following the Yankees\’ loss to the Astros.

Steinbrenner added that he informed Judge that the Yankees want him and the money will not be an issue for the team. They will still have money left over to fund other endeavors. The full amount Judge has in mind for his contract, however, determines whether such discussions will take place.

On the same day that news that the Yankees were re-signing slugger Anthony Rizzo to a multi-year contract with a club option for 2025 surfaced, Steinbrenner made his remarks. Apparently, Rizzo and Judge\’s friendship grew during their time spent as teammates, which started in the summer of 2021.

Before Tuesday\’s events, Steinbrenner made it clear that the Yankees could appoint him as \’Captain\’ if Judge stayed with the team after being selected to four All-Star teams. The organization is confident that they are in a position to make Judge the offer he won\’t be able to refuse despite the possibility that their words could be read as revealing.
