Carlos Rodon, for very long, remained the most anticipated acquisition of the New York Yankees. He shook the San Francisco Giants when he opted out of the two-year contract to join the rivals, the New York Yankees. The Bronx Bombers, on the other hand, were ecstatic to acquire a strong left-hand pitcher, which they thought would bring much-needed balance to the pitching rotation.

However, all the excitement and expectations doused quickly as the southpaw could not last more than two innings in the pinstripes. Rodon’s troubling injury history came back to bite him, and this time, the pitcher injured his throwing arm. After being initially sidelined due to forearm strain, the injuries kept on piling up, and Carlos Rodon could not make his way back on the mound. Meanwhile, a fresh injury update on the pitcher looks a little promising.

New York Yankees’ newest acquisition, Carlos Rodon, is desperately trying to make a return in the pinstripes. However, the persistent injuries continue to foil his plans. Just when the forearm strain healed, a “chronic” back injury further delayed Rodon’s return. The back worsened over time as the Yankees had to put his baseball-related activities on hold. Further, the conditioning team sent him for scans and decided to inject him with a cortisone shot. Subsequently, the pitcher took the shot and went on radio silence for 48 hours as the fluid did its magic.

As per MLB insider Jon Heyman, Carlos Rodon will soon begin pitching from Friday. It would be Rodon’s first time stepping on the mound after taking the cortisone shot. Initially, the southpaw will throw flat on the ground to assess his physical status. Later, he would have to throw plenty of bullpen sessions before getting a rehab assignment. Hence, it could still be weeks before Carlos could pitch again in the big leagues. Regardless, the fresh updates will surely soothe the fans’ worries as they finally have something to look forward to.

An MLB insider named Jon Heyman has shared a major injury update on Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon. Jon said the southpaw would resume throwing from Friday after receiving a cortisone shot. Moreover, if he reports back positively after the throwing session, the Yankees will allow him to throw a bullpen session. Overall, if all things go well, the pitcher could be back in six weeks, precisely by June 23. That still is a long way ahead, but as they say, better late than never.

Earlier, popular baseball critic, Jomboy claimed he’s heard from his sources that Carlos Rodon may not pitch this year as his back issue is more serious than what the Yankees are claiming at the moment. However, the pitcher’s wife, Ashley Rodon, clapped back at the rumors and called it “bulls***.” Even Rodon himself has stated that he cannot put a timeline on his return as he is not fully aware of the severity of his back injury. Overall, the mixed reactions and uncertainties have definitely annoyed the fans.
