Will The Lakers Be Able To Reach Playoffs Now That LeBron James Is OUT Indefinitely?

The Los Angeles Lakers were on their way to grabbing their slight chance to the playoff that they had. However, their opportunity to reach the postseason took a great hit when the reports showed that LeBron James was injured. The 38-year-old has been a phenomenon when it comes to constantly scoring for his team when they needed him. But it could all mean nothing if they fail to qualify for the playoffs second time in a row. It will even ruin the perfect career report that the four-time champ has over the last 20 years in the NBA.

According to Shams Charania, the 38-year-old suffered a right foot injury in the right foot in the game against the Dallas Mavericks. Although James suffered the injury on Sunday, he was unwilling to leave the court when his team was losing. The game resulted in the much-needed win that LeBron talked about after his All-star game. However, missing Lebron James on the team is a big hole to cover, but the Lakers have the jack of all trades named Anthony Davis. But even he injured himself in a foot stress injury from which he is still recovering.

The Lakers Chances For The Playoffs After LeBron’s Injury

The 2020 champ have found themselves pushed into the corner often many times in the last two years. The reasons are innumerable, but the major reason remains poor construction and injuries to that. GM Rob Pelinka improved on his mistake with the roster, but the injuries are not in his hands. This time it is not any player but LeBron James himself, who injured himself in the last game. According to the reports, James made a hard fall on his right foot and heard a pop while falling. Now it raises many questions about how the Lakers will deal with this calamity.

The first-time head coach Darvin Ham has had to make settlements throughout his first tenure with the Lakers. When he began, he did not get all the desires for every position. So, he had to make settlements and play the players accordingly. But this time, he will have to make changes in place of LeBron James. Luckily he has a better roster this time because of the new arrivals by the trade deadline.

One other aspect where the Lakers have dominated throughout their whole season is their defense. And after acquiring the new players, they are younger, faster, and more versatile. This will largely help the team when they have to play some games without LeBron. In the meantime, it will not be an easy job for Ham to replace King James with any strategy or player. If Darvin manages to win without James, it will turn out to be the most interesting ending of the season for LA.
