The Lakers played an exceptional game in Mecca of basketball against the New York Knicks. It was a much-needed win, as LA requires as many wins as they can get looking at their condition this season. The 34-year-old point guard is often criticized for lacking accuracy in clutch moments. There were moments when Russell Westbrook had the opportunity to seal the game for the team but could not. However, last night was different, as he managed to support the team with three of his seven assists in overtime. Westbrook\’s new role is all about leading the second unit in the absence of LeBron and AD. And the reserved point guard just controlled most of the events on the court. In the extra five minutes, which were crucial for the Lakers, Westbrook owned the stage.

Apart from the controversy surrounding point guard Russell Westbrook, AD and LBJ were also good. The two superstars did manage to pull good numbers, but they did not look at their best. The 29-year-old center, who recently returned from the injury, is still sluggish and lacks dynamic movements. Before his injury, Davis used to take control of the game at both ends of the court. But it seems the beast will take some time before getting back into his usual form. LeBron also thrived with a triple-double reaching as high as 4th in the All-time assists list.

For the team filled with superstars, every day is a reach for new records in the league.
