Gerrit Cole, the New York Yankees ace and reigning CY Young pitcher, has always enjoyed unwavering support from his family. His wife, Amy Cole, always turns up at his home starts with his elder son, Caden Cole. However, this time around, Caden met none other than Yankee captain Aaron Judge. Dick’s Sporting Goods had organised a ProCamps event at the Yankee Stadium this week to allow young kids a chance to meet and interact with their Yankee idols. Interestingly, Caden was also a part of the camp as he met Judge and shortstop Anthony Volpe. Amy shared stories of Caden taking swings against the Yankee captain. With Judge playfully pitching to him, Caden swung his bat with all his might.

The interaction highlighted Aaron Judge’s kindness and approachability, traits that endear him to fans of all ages. The video of Baby Caden Cole swinging against Aaron Judge quickly went viral, spreading across social media platforms. Many praised Judge for his graciousness and the genuine joy he brought to Caden. Needless to say, events like this one strengthen the bond between the Yankees and their fanbase, particularly the younger generation. Having said that, Gerrit Cole skipped the camp as he was preparing for his next start, which was against the Rangers on Saturday. Notably, Cole skipped a start last week, citing body fatigue. While he returned to action on Sunday against the Jays, his durability remains a matter of concern for the New York Yankees as they strive for a strong postseason push in the final phase of the 2024 MLB season.
