Sir Lewis Hamilton is set to begin his new journey with the Prancing Horse. But it won’t happen until next year. He will end his long and memorable collaboration with Mercedes this year. The English great has been an integral part of the German outfit since 2013. He helped in the transformation of the outfit into a powerhouse. From 2014 to 2021, the Brackley team never lost a constructor title. They won eight straight titles in the turbo-hybrid era. On the other hand, the British racer won six Driver’s World Championships in those eight years.

However, from 2022 to the present day, Mercedes and Hamilton have been going downhill in terms of their on-track performance. The seven-time champion racer has been winless since 2022. After waiting to get the right car for two years, Lewis Hamilton decided to switch teams early in 2024. It shocked a lot of people, including his fans and the Mercedes team, of course. Anyway, at present, the fans can’t wait to see the most decorated driver racing for the most successful team in the sport. Lately, Lewis Hamilton has talked about a possible black livery for Ferrari in the future.

The seven-time champion has always been an advocate for diversity in F1 and campaigned quite actively against prejudices regarding people of color. Mercedes, with whom he has been a part for a long time, has supported his campaign to adopt a black livery in 2020. The Silver Arrows has supported Hamilton in spreading messages against racism. At present, the Mercedes W15 has both silver and black colors on the livery. During the Grand Prix in Montreal, Lewis Hamilton talked about the possibility of pushing John Elkann, the Ferrari chairman for a black car. In a press conference via F1, Lewis Hamilton mentioned that he had not driven a black car for some time. Hence, it is not likely that he would push for black livery too early in his journey with Ferrari. He even said, “But no.”

Nonetheless, the 39-year-old champion driver added that he had discussed a potential collaboration between Ferrari and Mission 44 with Elkann. Moreover, the former champion still hopes to have an impact off-track with his new team. Lewis Hamilton mentioned that Ferrari does a lot of philanthropic work so they will work closely with Mission 44. Moreover, the seven-time champion feels that they should do more impact work within the sport. However, they will work on more impact stuff outside together. Hence, Hamilton says, “That’s really exciting.” The seven-time champion founded Mission 44 in 2021. Moreover, the aim of the foundation has been to build an inclusive and fairer future for the youth all over the world.
