Red Bull\’s FIA Budge Cap Violation Turning Into A LEGAL BATTLE! FIA Deliberately Delaying The Decision?

F1 Budge Cap Row May Turn Into A Legal Battle!

Toto Wolff, the head of Mercedes, has hinted that the budget cap inquiry by the FIA may go to court as the crisis enters a second weekend. The executive of Mercedes stated that the International Court of Appeal and a panel of adjudicators might provide a judgment. Although the system was \”very sturdy,\” the Austrian insisted he had \”zero doubt\” the matter would be handled properly. Following claims by Auto Motor und Sport that Mercedes\’ competitor Red Bull had over the budget ceiling by almost $10 million, this has happened.

According to the FIA, the Cost Cap Adjudication Panel should be consulted. Independent judges are among the panel of judges who will review the rules. And the case, as well as determine whether or not they ought to be punished.

Wolff believes that, in contrast to previous experiences, this would be handled properly and transparently. He says experts have been proposed as independent judges and attorneys without any connection to Formula One. The most likely punishment for Red Bull will be a fine rather than more harsh measures. Due to significant overspending, the team might have lost world championship points and Max Verstappen\’s world title. While Mohammed ben Sulayem, the FIA\’s new president, has pledged to look into the matter, Lewis Hamilton has urged that it not be ignored.

Is FIA Deliberately Delaying The Budge Cap Row Decision?

The committee investigating Red Bull\’s alleged budget cap violation initially planned to reveal its findings on Wednesday. However, it was announced that the investigation might take longer than expected. Thus, the result date has been postponed. Amid this, many on the internet started speculating that FIA is deliberately delaying the budget cap decision in order to avoid overshadowing Verstappen\’s potential title win in the Japanese Grand Prix. 

However, on Thursday, the F1 governing body denied all these claims calling them baseless. The official statement from FIA said,\”The FIA also reiterates that any suggestion that FIA personnel have disclosed sensitive information is equally baseless.\”
