NBA Legend LeBron James And Singer Drake Buys Stake In AC Milan FC! Excited For Future Endeavors

The 2022 season of the Italian football league series began last month. And AC Milan, who have had a decent start this season, announced the list of their stakeholders on Wednesday. Several big names have appeared on the ownership list of AC Milan. These big names include the likes of LeBron James, Drake, and even New Yankees management. 

Who Has Bought Stakes In AC Milan?

Gerry Cardinale, the new owner of AC Milan, announced a vast list of investors engaged in the acquisition of the Rossoneri. RedBird Capital Partners concluded the transaction to pay €1.2 billion for the majority stake in the seven-time European champions. In June, Cardinale declared a tentative agreement to purchase Milan from another American company, Elliott Management. Talking about the team\’s vision, Gerry stated, \”We have a multi-decade relationship with the New York Yankees and the Steinbrenner family that has resulted in the creation of some of the most successful businesses in sports, entertainment, and hospitality.\”

Several well-known names are on the list from the sports and music industries. Lebron James is reportedly one of the investors in the process that started in May 2022 to change AC Milan\’s ownership. James already owns a financial interest in Liverpool, an English Premier League team. He is now planning to make an investment in AC Milan as well.

LeBron is involved in the agreement via Main Street Advisors. He is not the only well-known American on the list because his friend and well-known Canadian artist Drake also bought stock in the Italian squad. Major League Baseball powerhouse New York Yankees are also said to have purchased a 10% share in AC Milan. According to various sources, LeBron James recently agreed to a lucrative $97 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 37-year-old just committed to the most expensive contract in NBA history. He was also the sole representative of American team sports and was an active athlete named on Forbes\’ list of billionaires.

Meanwhile, AC Milan is among the most well-known in Italian football and the UEFA Champions League. They just won the Serie A. Milan finally won the league championship in the 2021–22 season, capping a nearly ten-year wait. After a decade of deterioration characterized by financial instability and subpar play. The sale will be another chapter in the Italian team\’s legacy.  Milan is a seven-time winner of the European Championship and returned to the prestigious Champions League last year for the first time since 2014. The recent high-profile selling of a European sports franchise to American investors is that of Milan immediately after Chelsea Football Club was bought for 2.5 billion pounds.
