Former Indian Captain and the only T20 World Cup-winning captain of India, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is finally back in the dugouts. However, this time he will play a different role. BCCI appointed MS Dhoni as the new mentor of Team India for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This news came as a surprise to everyone in the nation. Even some members of the council weren’t aware of it. Not only them, but the selectors learned about it only a few minutes ago before the announcement took place.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is India’s most successful Captain in white-ball ICC events. Also, he is the only Indian Captain who has T20 World Cup, One-Day World Cup, and ICC Champion’s Trophy in his cabinet. On the other hand, the current Captain Viral Kohli is yet to win any major ICC event. Under his captaincy, the team always lost in the semi-finals or the finals of the tournament. As a result, BCCI brings back India’s most successful Captain of the white-ball matches to advise the current Captain so that team India can lift the T20 World Cup’s trophy once again.
