Payton was recently asked who he thought was the better player overall. Gary claims that there is no contest between LeBron James and Michael Jordan as the best all-around basketball player. When Gary Payton played his final game in 2007, the league saw a young man from Akron make history. He had the opportunity to see James play even though the former Supersonics guard was nearing the conclusion of his career. And while discussing which player is the superior all-arounder, Payton doesn\’t think twice about ranking James higher than Jordan.

Comparing the two great players could be entertaining. But it is wrong to compare a player currently performing at the top of his game to a retired superstar. All things considered, MJ has the claim to have had one of the basketball world\’s most remarkable peaks. However, if longevity is taken into account, LeBron James is the winner.
