The start of the 2022 NBA season was not by any means up to the mark for the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the in the past few games, the team has managed to stage a small turnaround. And with the return of LeBron James to the side, the team was looking better than ever this season. However, in their latest game against the Indiana Pacers, the team has been handed over their twelfth defeat of the season. The loss is even more worrying for the team, given that at one point, they were leading in the game with 17 points.

LA Lakers\’ two-game winning streak ended at the Crypto.com arena in the latest game versus Indiana Pacers. This is not the first time in the season that the team has been handed a defeat just when they seemed to be picking up the pace. In what was perhaps one of the best comebacks of the season, the Pacers topped the Lakers by 116-115.

The defeat is especially bitter for the team in Purple and Gold as they were leading in the game by 17 points till the fourth quarter. However, the Pacers did not give up and produced a storybook comeback in the fourth quarter of the game. For Indiana Pacers, the icing on the cake was Andrew Nembhard\’s phenomenal buzzer-beater three-pointer. 

Meanwhile, LeBron James, who has managed a streak of strong performances ever since his return, opened up about the loss in the post-game conversation. James seemed pretty upset about the defeat. During post-match, he stated losing a game like that means everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong for the Lakers. It was, by all means, one of the disheartening and frustrating defeats for the Los Angeles-based club. 

Moreover, head coach Darvin Ham also spoke about the game in the post-match interaction. Ham stated that the team fell short of capitalizing on the huge lead they had. He thinks that if the Lakers had played more aggressively, the outcome of the game might have been different. Ham also took responsibility for their defeat on himself. He also hoped days ahead would be better for the team.

LeBron James got off to a good start for the Lakers in the game. But he got injured and couldn\’t play at his peak. The Lakers have a challenging stretch of games coming up. If they don\’t make some serious decision soon, their season may spiral out of control rapidly. In the game, Anthony Davis led the Lakers\’ tally, finishing with 25 points and 13 rebounds. chipped in 24 points for the team. Tyrese Haliburton and Benedict Mathurin played for the Pacers and contributed with 24 and 23 points, respectively.
