During the late 2000s, Legend Kobe Bryant and LeBron James were considered to be two of the most dominant forces in the NBA. It is no secret that James and the late Kobe had a great deal of respect for each other. Meanwhile, the streaming giant Netflix recently released a basketball documentary titled The Redeem team. The docuseries covers the journey of the USA international basketball team in the 2008 Olympics. After the release, the stars associated with the Team, including LeBron James, recently shared their insights about the Team.

   

LeBron James Terms The Redeem Team As The Greats!

America\’s international basketball team represented the country in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, also known as The Redeem Team. Streaming service Netflix has just dropped a docuseries about the journey of the star-studded team that went to compete in one of the most prominent tournaments of the world and secured a gold medal there.

The Redeem featured LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Michael Redd, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Jason Kidd, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, and Taurean Prince on its roster. In a team full of skilled players, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant were the standouts. Meanwhile, after the release of the documentary, James talked about the Redeem team. James stated that in his perspective, this is the time when they faced the finest foreign player. James\’ justification was rather straightforward, the strength of Team USA in 2008 and Dwyane Wade\’s performance versus Spain in the championship game. 

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, the Team\’s two key stars, received early foul calls, but Wade eventually took the stage. Coming off the bench in the first half, Wade scored 21 points, giving Team USA a 69-61 advantage. Dwayne Wade said that he had a sense of assurance before the game. He also acknowledged that when he and a few other players came onto the floor, they were aware of their responsibilities and what needed to be done.

Kobe Welcomed James In The Lakers With These Three Words

King James and Black Mamba were two of the most fierce competitors on the basketball court. Despite that, there was always a deal of respect between the two-star players. Even though Kobe had long since retired at that point, he was still a significant part in the franchise. Therefore, everyone was interested in watching Kobe\’s response to James\’ decision to shift his skills to Los Angeles in 2018.

James talked about his signing with LA in detail and recalled what Bryant had said to him. He revealed that Kobe gave him a unique 3-word welcome to the Lakers, saying, \”You Family now.\” Such kind remarks from a great mean the world to a star transitioning to a new franchise in the latter stages of his career. And this is something James will remember for the rest of his life.
