Is Lewis Hamilton Scared Of Mercedes’ Comeback Ability? Accepted That He Can’t Win Another Title

Sir Lewis Hamilton is an absolute legend of Formula One. He is one of the only two Superstars of F1 motorsport to win seven driver’s championship titles, along with legend Michael Schumacher. If Mercedes-AMG-Petronas has dominated the Formula One Grid from 2014 to 2020, it is because of one and only Lewis Hamilton. The man who turned out to be the brightest star against all odds seems to be fading away recently. Sir Lewis Hamilton came pretty close to winning his eighth title in 2021, which would make him the most successful racer of all time.

But sadly, Hamilton could not hold on to his fine form till the last lap of the 2021 season as the Dutchman from Red Bull came out on top of him. Adding to his misery the following season, Hamilton could not win a single race for the first time in his career. The Dutch racer from Red Bull, Max Verstappen, was successful in defending his title, winning back-to-back seasons. The 2022 F1 season was a horrible one for both Hamilton and the team. Everybody expects Hamilton to come back strong in the upcoming 2023 season. But Sir Lewis Hamilton reveals his doubts. That he is not sure enough to make it to his eighth title by beating the Dutchman.

In the podcast interview with Jay Shetty, On Purpose, the seven-time champ expresses his constant self-doubt about whether he will be able to be the best again. Sir Lewis Hamilton has revealed several times what gives him the most joy. Sadly, it is not winning championships anymore, but rather his foundation Mission 44. Through his foundations, he is able to encourage kids, especially underprivileged kids. He helps them to follow their dream and not be scared about any hurdles that come their way.

Hamilton believes the most rewarding feeling is when he is able to make the life of as many kids as possible happy. More than racing, Initiatives like Mission 44 and Ignite are what Hamilton seems to be more concerned about. Sir Lewis Hamilton has reached the twilight of his career. It has become more apparent after he lost back-to-back championship titles. Lewis Hamilton says, “the reason for this self-doubt is because I’m worried that I may not win another title again.”

Advantage For Max Verstappen and Red Bull

On the other hand, Max Verstappen is still young. He is gearing up to make a hat trick of winning the driver’s championship titles for Red Bull. The Dutchman on the contrary to the attitude of Lewis Hamilton, looks more motivated. This can help him to continue his winning form and dominate the F1 grid.

It seems like the hegemony of the Silver Arrows is over. It is time for Red Bull to rule Formula One Motorsport. After a long time the team principal of Red Bull, Christian Horner has found able hands in the form of the Dutchman. Horner can depend on him to establish the hegemony of Red Bull. Sir Lewis Hamilton may make way for Red Bull since he is not as motivated as before. Then the dream of Christian Horner is not very far away.
