Even after being the constructors\’ champions for eight straight seasons, Mercedes have struggled with the newly designed car. Troubles in the Silver Arrows camp have caused chaos for Lewis Hamilton, who has struggled to fight in the front with Red Bull and Ferrari. The German racing team faced porpoising early in the season, restricting their pace and being the third fastest team on the grad this season. Meanwhile, Hamilton has had a series of failures in comparison with his teammate George Russell, who is driving during his first year for Mercedes. The seven-time world champ has only scored 50 points after seven races. He is currently in the place in the drivers\’ rankings. 

The Briton has secured one podium in Bahrain, while the Silvers Arrows have remained winless so far. He was eliminated in Q1 in Jeddah and was lapped by Max Verstappen in Imola. After having a great race in Barcelona, Mercedes stumbled once again in Principality, where the two drivers finished P5 and P8. Amid all the chaos for the Silver Arrows this season, Lewis Hamilton revealed that he would have loved to race for Ferrari as it is every F1 driver\’s dream. During an interview with Corriere Della Sera, Hamilton was asked about the possibility of him racing for Ferrari in the future. The Briton pointed to the loyalty tattoo on his arm and said that it would definitely be nice to race for Ferrari in his career. However, Lewis feels that things happen for a reason, and Mercedes is his family. Moreover, the 37-year-old stated that he will always be a Mercedes driver like Sterling Moss. At the same time, the British driver also shared his favorites for this year\’s championship. Lewis shared that he would have liked Ferrari and Charles Leclerc to win if he was a fan. Lewis Hamilton added, \”If I could sit with the fans over there, I would support Charles. I\’m a Ferrari fan.\”

The Briton\’s focus right now would be to work towards Mercedes\’ first win during the upcoming weekend in Baku at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. But, it might be a little more time until the Silver Arrows develop the W13 to be a front-racing car. Till then, the German racing team will have to keep chipping in important points to stay close to the title.
