Anthony Davis has been leading the Los Angeles Lakers really well since James suffered a tendon injury on his right foot. The team was in a deep trouble when AD returned with a bang. In fact, Anthony Davis missed as many as twenty games this season. He sustained a stress injury on his right foot last December. The whole Lakers squad seemed very injury-prone throughout the year.
Especially Anthony Davis, who looks very weak physically. Whenever AD gets hurt on the court, the Lakers fans have their hearts in their mouth. In the ongoing series, he had a moment when he lost his balance and fell down. He was not getting up for a long time, and when he finally did, everybody saw AD to have a fat lip. Furthermore, there was blood visible on his lips.
Anthony Davis Says He Is Ready To Play Tonight
The Lakers had a terrible start, as they lost ten out of the first 12 games. But it was Anthony Davis who led the side to the postseason. Hence, it is essential for the Lakers that AD stays fit from the playoffs onwards. But after Game 4, there were more speculations around a hip injury to Anthony Davis. It is also revealed that AD had been suffering from this hip injury for more than a week. But in a recent interview, Anthony Davis mentioned, “I’ll be fine.” In Game 4, AD collided with Ja Morant, and he was hit in his injured hip. But he did not let himself get out of the game. He stayed for 42 minutes on the court as the game went on to overtime.
The Lakers won, but Anthony Davis could not score more than 12 points. However, AD says he is ready for Game 5. There is no way he is not playing tonight to make sure the Lakers win the series. Nobody can question the commitment of AD to his team, but his fitness has always been a matter of concern. Since he has never looked totally healthy this season, fans won’t have any respite. Hence, the Lakers can win tonight to provide some respite to their fans till the next round begins. The duo of James and Davis will be more crucial than ever since they are heading deeper into the playoffs.
AD Is Not 100% Healthy
The head coach, Darvin Ham, had also mentioned even before the regular season was over that the team won’t let AD put too much pressure on his right foot. Anthony Davis is still struggling with his feet. But his efforts on the court have been turning things around for the Lakers. The Lakers have a healthy lead over the Grizzlies in the playoffs series.
The Purple and the Gold army lead 3-1 at the moment. Furthermore, tonight the Lakers will meet the Grizzlies in Game 5. If they win tonight, they will move forward to the next round in the playoffs. It is quite unbelievable to think from where the Lakers were in the first half of the season to where they are now.
