“He’s Pretty Scary,” Yankees Set High Expectations From Giancarlo Stanton For 2024 Season!

The New York Yankees’ quest for a rebound season in 2024 could only be fulfilled if the regular starters perform up to expectations. Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, and DJ LeMahieu, among others, must unleash their full potential to contribute to the offensive production this year.

Giancarlo Stanton especially, is feeling the most heat. The former NL MVP, who earns $30 million annually, registered his career-worst season last year. However, ahead of a new season, Stanton, who underwent a major transformation, has had a strong spring season and his Grapefruit League numbers has risen a glimmer of hope amongst the clubhouse.

Giancarlo Stanton showed glimpses of his true potential in his recent spring outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Stanton homered twice, including hitting a grab slam to contribute to the Yank’s 12-0 win over the Pirates. His three towering hits were combined and recorded at 1,334 feet. With that, Stanton is hitting .314 with four homers and 10 RBIs in 12 games and 35 at-bats this spring. Needless to say, the Yankee clubhouse is excited to see the big guy regain his prime form ahead of the pivotal 2024 season. Expressing his excitement, Bronx Bombers captain Aaron Judge said he was impressed to see Stanton do what he does best, which is to slam skyrocketing home runs.

Not only that but New York Yankees skipper Aaron Boone added that Giancarlo Stanton has looked good all spring long this year. Moreover, Boone feels Stanton is pretty scary to face with the kind of precision he showed vs the Pirates. “I think he went into this offseason pissed off. I’d say there’s an added edge to him,” the manager said. Undoubtedly, the slugger has worked hard this off-season to ensure he is in good shape and, most importantly, injury-free. Notably, Stanton shed weight and reported for spring with a much leaner approach. And the kind of run he has had on the bases this spring, it’s evident the transformation is helping him massively. However, the most challenging thing for Giancarlo Stanton would be to carry forward this momentum into the regular season and not fall under the pressure. Confidence is the key to his success.

With Giancarlo Stanton regaining form in time for the 2024 season opening day, WFAN radio host C-Mac termed the New York Yankees’ hitting lineup the best in the AL this year. He feels if Stanton is locked in, the Yanks have one of the most feared lineups in MLB, let alone the American League. “Look at what this team can be if Giancarlo Stanton is what we saw yesterday,” C-Mac said.

Notably, this year, the New York Yankees boast one of the strongest hitting lineups in MLB. With Aaron Judge locked in as captain, the front office added another top slugger, Juan Soto, to the roster this off-season. Additionally, if Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, and DJ LeMahieu manage to step up, the Yanks could be invincible in the AL.
