Recently, in the Beyond the Grid podcast, the present Alfa Romeo driver claimed that Lewis Hamilton is the fastest teammate he has ever had.
“I think Hamilton is still the fastest driver among the entire grid, even faster than Max Verstappen,” asserted Bottas. Don’t know about the rest of the world, but “for me, Lewis is at the top,” Valtteri Bottas claimed in a very clear way. He can see the Briton as very talented. But the talent is not something that puts him at the top; his hard work is. According to Bottas, Lewis works very hard. Hamilton works harder than all the people out there. Bottas also revealed that “Hamilton will be the last driver to leave the circuit.”
Valtteri Bottas Has Some Advice For Sergio Perez
During his tenure at Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas was always aside in terms of getting the spotlight. But he never complained about driving alongside Lewis Hamilton. Bottas may not have defeated Hamilton yet, but they went wheels to wheels several times. And thus, he knows what is in there in the seven-time world champion, which helps him believe Hamilton is still better than Verstappen.
According to many experts in Formula One, including drivers from other teams, Red Bull’s current situation is similar to Mercedes when Valtteri Bottas was driving for them. Sergio Perez is in the same position as Bottas, being the second driver of the team. That is why, Bottas has some advice for Perez, acknowledging that it must be tough for him since he is determined to win. Sergio is facing a tough competitor, but he is a skilled and reliable driver who is already putting in a lot of effort. Hence, Valtteri suggested to Checo that it’s a spiral, and so he must not try too hard to get into it. “Believe in your skill and do your own thing,” he said.
