This year, Red Bull not only won the Formula One championship but had complete dominance throughout the entire season. The team claimed 17 spectacular Grand Prix wins, along with a back-to-back driver’s championship. Whatever Red Bull achieved in 2022 is probably a dream of every other team. All of them would like to become the same strong as Red Bull this year. One can easily point out that their car design must be on the eyes. Now the question is, will they go beyond the morals in copying Red Bull’s car design? Well, Christian Horner believes, Yes, they will.
After passing the best season in their entire career, Christian Horner has claimed that “a few more cars” like Red Bull will emerge next season in order to attain the same result as Red Bull. Of course, this will go against the ethics of Formula One, and so Horner also warns the rivals against doing so. In an interview with Channel 4, The 2022 Championship winning team Principal suggested that next year will be tough as the cost cap penalties handicap them. But one will definitely see convergence at the start of the 2023 F1 season. He then added, “I am sure that there will be a few more cars that will have similar looks like Ferrari and Red Bull.
Mercedes Not Copying Red Bull’s Design
Christian Hirner is indeed afraid that the rivals can get stronger next as they already have Red bUll’ idea which has proved to be the best. But in his fears, Mercedes should not be included as the team cleared that they have a totally different car for next year. Despite the hints that Mercedes gave about stealing Red Bull’s concept, something suggests the Silver Arrows be free of any copy designs. During the 2022 season, Mercedes newcomer George Russell has suggested that looking at Red Bull and Ferrari’s concept for the 2023 car is not off the table.
Meanwhile, Mercedes director Mike Eliott explained that the Silver Arrows must admit that this year they chose a wrong concept even if it was humiliating. However, he assured that Mercedes has analyzed their mistakes and made a new flawless concept that is independent of Red Bull and Ferrari. Mercedes never cared about admitting the fact that Red Bull got the best concept this year. And also, winning a Formula One championship so spectacularly is already proving that Red bull indeed had an idea that no one ever imagined.
