CHECKOUT: Yankees’ Cap Aaron Judge Disrespected In MLB’s Biggest Disappointment List

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge, who had supposedly recovered from a gruesome toe injury, entered the 2024 season with loads of expectations. Moreover, with Juan Soto offering cushion with consistent walks and scoring opportunities, Judge appeared to have yet another MVP-level season.

However, the expectations failed to translate, at least in the first month of the tournament. In 26 games, he’s hitting .186/.322/.371 with 4 home runs and 13 RBIs. Owing to his abysmal numbers, Jim Bowden of The Athletic featured Aaron Judge in an unwanted list and explained how Judge had been the biggest disappointment of the season for the Yankees.

For Aaron Judge, the 2024 season has been a rollercoaster ride marked by both moments of brilliance and stretches of frustration. While he smashed four home runs, the rest of the time, Judge struggled to connect hits. His awful strike-out rate has got the fans worried, to say the least, as the captain was expected to have a much better season. This inconsistency has frustrated fans and pundits alike, leading to questions about Judge’s ability to fulfill his potential as one of the game’s premier sluggers. Moreover, with Juan Soto leading the attack, scrutiny over Judge has increased in the past week. While a large part of the season is still on the cards, Judge has been ranked high in an unwanted analytical list.

Jim Bowden of The Athletic recently made a list of the top 10 biggest disappointments of the young MLB season, and Aaron Judge was featured in the sixth spot. Bowden explained that pre-season, Juan Soto was expected to turn Judge’s solo home runs into two or three-run shots by providing more traffic on the bases. However, the Yankees captain hasn’t been able to capitalize on the start, which is creating a huge problem for the Yanks. Jim Bowden accepted further that the former MVP will surely bounce back in the latter half of the tournament. However, as far as the first-month analysis is concerned, Judge deserves to be on the list of the top 10 biggest disappointments. Overall, despite these early season challenges, there is still hope that Judge can turn things around and finish the season on a high note.

Meanwhile, New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge has been self-aware of his struggles on the plate. Despite the breakthrough two-run homer against the Athletics, he refused to count it as a comeback sign. Judge said post-game that he needs at least 500 at-bats to even think about being back in the game.

“It’s not back yet, it’s not back yet. It’s always a work in progress,” said Aaron Judge after the game. The New York Yankees were off to a great start. However, a few narrow losses have resulted in a dip in position on the AL-East table. Moreover, with a challenging road trip on the horizon, the Yanks need Judge more than ever to earn a winning chance.
