Sir Lewis Hamilton is an absolute champion of Formula One Motorsport. Very few people have come close to the great Briton in terms of records and experiences. Many argue that Lewis Hamilton is the greatest F1 racer of all time. This argument might not impress the Schumacher fans too much. Michael Schumacher, the great German Legend, was an untouchable champion of the F1 Grid until his retirement. Nobody could believe that the record of seven driver\’s championship titles would be matched by anyone anytime soon. In 2020 the German had to share this record with the great English racer Lewis Hamilton.  

But the other Schumacher record that Hamilton will break next year is sticking to one team for the most prolonged period. Michael stayed with Ferrari for eleven seasons; in 2023, Lewis touched that record. If the contract extension between Mercedes and Hamilton is finally implemented, he will surpass the eleven-season mark.

Lewis Hamilton has said several times that he wishes to continue with Mercedes-Benz for another four or five years. If the rumored contract is accurate, then even after retiring two years later, Hamilton will stick with the Silver Arrows for another ten years as a brand ambassador. Perhaps the future is looking at a pretty long partnership between Sir Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes.            

Legacy Of Michael Schumacher And Lewis Hamilton

Schumacher was a savior of the Ferrari team as he brought the team\’s golden era. The Ferrari team was suffering from title draught for a long time. Until Michael came to the Ferrari team in the year of 1996, the team had the last taste of championship success in the F1 Grid at the end of the 1970s.

But with Michael Schumacher, the luck factor for Ferrari changed upside down as the team won countless titles in those eleven seasons Michael Schumacher was a part of the team. From 1996 to 2006, the F1 Universe witnessed Ferrari and Michael reach the pinnacle of the F1 motorsport. Michael Schumacher gained the GOAT title back in those days.

Until the F1 world saw another big revolution, it was in the Mercedes team this time. In 2013, Toto Wolff joined the team as the principal, and then came a promising talent who had already won a driver\’s championship once with McLaren. This talented driver who came from McLaren was Sir Lewis Hamilton. With his arrival, the team\’s dynamic changed, and the Silver Arrows became the most sought-after F1 team in modern times.

From 2014 to 2020, Lewis Hamilton won six more driver\’s championship titles added to the one with McLaren. He equalized the seven-title record of Schumacher, and if everything falls into place, Hamilton could win the coveted eighth title. 

How Are The Preparations Going On For The New Season?

 Lewis Hamilton, teammate George Russell, and the whole team head to Paul Ricard to test the tires for the upcoming season. The Silver Arrows will go through their first round of tire testing with Pirelli, as discussed with FIA, for their compounds of the new year.
