Anthony Davis Suffering With Hip Injury, Lakers Worried About His Return For Playoff’s Game 5

The Los Angeles Lakers once again excelled in their fourth game of the playoffs series at the Crypto Arena. With fans’ support behind them, even the injured superstar had the adrenaline to finish the game in style. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been suffering injuries throughout this year. But since they had been craving a postseason for so long, they had to put in extra work than the whole team combined. They are also the best players on the team, so the fans have extra expectations from the superstar duo.

As the tournament is coming closer to the end, the games are getting much more physical. And the Grizzlies even had plans to counter Anthony and LeBron with physical abilities. There have been two controversial hits on the two best players of the team. And these hits have all been at a place where no man would want to encounter a blow while playing. The action against LeBron James was termed a flagrant foul, but there was nothing given against Davis. Moreover, the 29-year-old is also suffering from a painful hip injury that is keeping him from giving his hundred percent on the court.

Coach Darvin Ham accepted in the post-game interview of game 4 that Anthony Davis must be hurting. But he also mentioned that it is not something that can keep Davis on the sidelines even at such a crucial time. “He’s definitely hurting, but it’s not something that’s going to keep him out,” confirmed Ham. Even Davis talked about his injury, saying that it is not something he picked up but rather one that aggravated on Monday. “I just wanted to play,” acknowledged Davis without any hesitation.

There is no doubt that Davis, a two-way player for the Lakers, works up and down the court with ease. However, he does it smoothly when he is at his full capacity. As of now, AD has not been at his best, and that is costing him his offensive game. But the Lakers have nothing to complain about, as he is compensating well at the defensive end of the court. He grabbed 11 rebounds, which shows how important is his mere presence on the court.

The Lakers Will Need Their Best Players

Undoubtedly, the Lakers’ games are only going to get more intense with only one day’s rest between the games. Meanwhile, LeBron always takes care of himself optimally during the playoffs. Davis could be seen struggling. His hip injury could cause him some major problems. But according to AD, he will be fine because he is receiving “round-the-clock treatment.” If the Lakers do not flinch in their next game, they wrap the series on Wednesday with 4-1.

Anthony Davis‘ presence in the next game looked questionable, seeing him walk slowly. However, he has been through injury for half of his career in the Lakers. Darvin Ham will have to come up with a plan if the 29-year-old keeps suffering. If they manage to keep excelling, they will need Anthony in the later stages of the postseason.
