Anthony Davis Ruled “OUT” Of Tonight’s Game Against The Rockets! Darvin Ham Putting D’Angelo Russell In Charge

Anthony Davis has been the hope of the Lakers after LeBron James was ruled out due to a tendon injury in his right foot. AD has been playing well, too, ever since James was gone this season. In fact, it was AD’s incredible performances that got the Lakers climbing higher on the table. At one point, the Lakers were the 9th seed.

However, they fell back to the 10th seed now. After losing against the Knicks, their brief streak ended. But they won against the Pelicans to get to the top ten again. Albeit, after D’Angelo Russell came back after the injury, he has been spectacular too. Hence the Lakers can rely on both Davis and Russell to take them to the postseason.

The purple and gold brigade missed the postseason last year. The Lakers have been through a lot this season as well. Even Anthony Davis was out with an injury he got back in December. But he took the charge since James was out for a couple of weeks. Furthermore, the Lakers have done well and still have a good chance to make the playoffs. If not the playoffs, then play-in for sure. But they need to keep winning, with only 13 more games to go. After the Lakers won against the Pelicans last night, the team is eager to get a long streak from here on. But it seems Darvin Ham will not let AD play the next game tonight against the Rockets.

Anthony Davis Needs To Look After His Feet

However, it is not surprising because coach Darvin Ham had said earlier that he wouldn’t take a risk with Anthony’s feet. AD is still under treatment for his feet, so it is better he does not play the back-to-back games. It is important Davis stays fit throughout the remaining regular season to help the team get to the playoffs.

Hence for tonight’s game against the Rockets, the Lakers will look up to D’Angelo Russell. D’lo is in good form and will hope to get a win despite AD not playing. Anthony Davis mentioned, “it is an active injury, so it would be critical if I put too much pressure on the foot. I want to play every game, and I’m not feeling any pain either. But this is something that we all discussed not putting strain on the feet.”

Albeit, the game against the Rockets should not be a tough game at all. The Rockets are lingering at the bottom of the Western Conference with the worst record. Hence, even without AD and the King, it should not be very difficult for the purple and gold brigade to snatch a victory. The Lakers are currently looking like a well-knit group.

With Russell leading the side in AD’s absence, they have abundant talents like Malik Beasley, Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves, Jarred Vanderbilt, Dennis Schroder, and so on. But undoubtedly, for the rest of the games in the regular season, the Lakers will need AD to be fit and fine to get them over the line.
