The team had a couple of tough seasons back to back. Last season the Lakers could not even make the postseason. James was unavailable for the majority of the time due to an injury. ,
This year, in James’ absence, Anthony Davis is carrying the team as far as he could. But the squad fell short of even the play-in round. With LeBron James looking fit, the Lakers thought of cracking the playoffs this time with ease. However, King James suffered a tendon injury in his right foot and was ruled out for two to three weeks.
But fortunately, Anthony Davis is here to take care of the team in LeBron’s absence. D’Angelo Russell also returned after injury and is performing exceedingly well. Evidently, the Lakers have come through a lot of obstacles this season. Injuries and not finding the right balance in the roster were making things really difficult for the franchise. But the Lakers look nicely sorted at the moment, and would like to continue this momentum. Last night the Lakers beat the Pelicans 123-108.

The purple and gold brigade currently holds the 10th seed and shares the same win-loss equation with the Mavericks and the Thunder. Meanwhile, LeBron James is working night and day to recover faster and get on the court to help the team raise their chances to make the postseason this time. Lately, James had been to an NBA court practicing some free throws. This incident raised hopes for the Lakers fans that the King might return soon. After the game against the Pelicans, the Lakers only have 13 more games to go in the regular season.
Can LeBron James return before these games are over, or will he return only to play in the postseason if the Lakers make it? The two weeks break that the King got after his injury kept him busy nonetheless. LeBron James was walking wearing a walking boot for the first few days. That actually scared the fans a bit. But then he got rid of them during the Knicks game. Later he was there with his family to support his son Bronny finish his high school career basketball with Sierra Canyon. LeBron James also visited the after-party of the Vanity Fair Oscars with his wife, Savannah. The couple looked impressive, as usual.
But the Lakers star was completely focused on his time in rehab as he is itching to get back on the court. Only time will tell when will he return. But when he does, it will be added benefit for the purple and gold brigade. Initially, King James was supposed to return on March 24 against the Thunder. But then again, there were more speculations that he might miss the rest of the season. However, with Russell and Davis, if the Lakers make the postseason, they would want LeBron James to show them the way through to the championship.
