After Buying Hachimura, Lakers Are Looking At Mo Bamba From Magic To Add To Their Youthful Roster

The LA Lakers are not having a good season currently. It looks like the ongoing season is about to end in the same way for the Lakers as it finished the last time. After the loss against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, the Lakers have lost back-to-back matches. Chances are they are not going to qualify for the playoffs. But why is the star-studded team having such a poor phase in terms of consistency? The Front Office might be thinking the reason is the idea of having only stars on the team. The problem with these stars is not that there is any lack of skill but a definite lack of consistency and sustainability. The Los Angeles Lakers are keen on building their team full of youthful energy with whom they can look at a long-term plan.

Perhaps the younger players are comparatively hungrier than the senior players. Albeit, there is an exception to this theory. The exception is LeBron James himself. However, these genuinely great players like King James and Anthony Davis frequently face severe injury issues. Davis came back to the team after a long break he took to recover from an injury against the Boston Celtics. But the match ended with a controversial issue when the referee missed a foul call.

Later on Tuesday, against the Nets, both James and David sat on the bench. Players like Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley are not really proving to be valuable anymore. Instead, the experts and fans feel they are on the team only for their name and fame. Hence Lakers are pretty happy to bring in the promising Japanese talent, Rui Hachimura. Only 24 years old, this guy has a long way to go in his NBA career.

Other Options For The Lakers To Make The Roster More Youthful

After bringing him in, the other young talents that have caught the attention of the front office are Zach LaVine and Mo Bamba. Bamba is currently part of the Orlando Magic, but he has probably impressed the Laker’s Management. According to Fastbreak, Rob Pelinka might be interested in a low-buy trade like Mo Bamba, an excellent prospect. The Laker’s front office may exchange Patrick Beverley for Mo Bamba.

According to suggestions from Fastbreak, since the salary of Bamba in Orlando is $10.3 million in the current season, Beverley could be a suitable exchange deal for the Lakers with Orlando. Patrick Beverley has a contract of $13 million that is about to expire, which is perfect for exchanging to bring in new talents like Bamba and two for future second-round picks in 2023 and the following year.

According to sources, Orlando Magic is also willing to bring in some veteran players to their roster. The Lakers would be a perfect choice for the Magic team to trade with. Bamba has not yet extended his contract with the Magic for the next season. Albeit Bamba has an average of 7.2 points per game, his shooting percentage from the three-point range is 39%, which is pretty good. Hence Mo is a viable option, and this deal must excite the Laker’s management as well.
