His average has dropped below .250, which is highly unusual for a guy whose career average is close to .300. Not only that, the infielder has already cleared that physically and is feeling fine. It’s not restricting his movements on the plate. So what exactly is the problem? Well, if you ask the man himself, even he is clueless. Speaking in an interview, DJ LeMahieu said that he had never hit this bad ever before. While DJ has faced such slumps before, he has always found a way back, which is not the case this time around.
LeMahieu admits that the form slump has come at the wrong time for the Yankees. The team is missing its star slugger, Aaron Judge, owing to an unfortunate injury. Hence, the offense is already collapsing, which is putting more pressure on DJ. Regardless, the infielder is determined to work things out.
