The teams were picked by the captains on the spot on the stage right before the game. Both teams stepped on the court shortly after the draft picking concluded. Furthermore, Team Giannis overpowered Team LeBron as Jayson Tatum shattered many records with his 55-point game.
Although, both captains had to retire prematurely from the game due to respective injuries. Team Giannis edges past Team LeBron with a scoreline of 184-175. After the All-Star MVP award was named after Kobe Bryant, the NBA renamed the WNBA Advocacy Award to Kobe and Gigi Bryant WNBA Advocacy Award. This year, Kobe’s former teammate, Pau Gasol, received the WNBA Advocacy Award.
After receiving the award, Pau spoke to the media and said that Kobe and his daughter are always with him in his mind and heart. Gasol further added Kobe played an essential role in his growth as a basketball player.
