Now the latest addition to the list is Minnesota Twins outfielder Max Kepler who happens to be an ex-MVP.
Max Kepler has been an outfielder associated with Minnesota Twins since 2015. Last year, he scored nine home runs with an average of .227. Moreover, in 2019, Max scored his career high 36 home runs and 90 RBIs and placed his candidature for the MVP. Hence, he could be a perfect addition to the Yankees bullpen. However, the trade looks unlikely to go ahead as the Yanks aim to adhere to the Steve Cohen Tax. They are already standing at the edge of the threshold and are not in a position to make a trade for now.

Prior to this, the Yankees showed keen interest in San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar. Profar is the top free agent remaining in the window. If the Yanks decide to surpass the tax threshold, they will pay 90% tax on every dollar spent above the limit as second-time offenders. Hence, the hesitation is understandable.
