Matt Carpenter Yankees

The Yankees outfielder Matt Carpenter is having a strong debut season for the New York Yankees. However, the veteran slugger injured himself severely while taking an at-bat. The three-time MLB All-Star was forced to limp off the field after sustaining a left foot fracture during Monday\’s game against the Mariners. Carpenter was going through an exceptional season with the Bombers after making his major league return this season. He had a tough couple of seasons with the Cardinals before he was dropped off and signed a minor league contract.

Unfortunately, Matt Carpenter sustained the injury during the first innings as he fouled an 88-mph slider from Logan Gilbert onto his left foot. The 36-year-old suffered a huge blow on his left foot and was seen hobbling around the home plate. He eventually continued the at-bat but was struck out during the next pitch before leaving the game.

The unexpected injury has derailed Matt\’s strong first season with the Yankees. Now, they would be forced to find a replacement for the two-time Silver Slugger winner. In 127 at-bats this season, Carpenter is averaging .307 with 37 RBIs and 15 homers. The Yankees still lead the AL East table with a 70-39 record. However, they have fallen behind the Dodgers and the Mets for the best league record after losing six out of the last ten games in recent times. And this has led to speculations that Aaron Judge might look to find a new team in the free agency.

Will Aaron Judge Leave Yankees Due To Their Recent Troubles?

The Yankees have gone 9-16 in their last 25 games, which is completely different from how they started the season. They have gone 6-15 against teams other than the Royals. That factor could play into Aaron Judge\’s mind as he is thinking about his future with the Yankees. The four-time All-Star\’s contract will end after the season. And he is set to enter free agency after recording the franchise\’s offseason offer.

Judge

Their recent losses to Mariners and Cardinals can remind them of their traumas from 2020 and 2021, which Judge might certainly not want in the future. The team really struggles when a crucial player misses out from the lineup due to injuries. After a breathtaking 49-16 early in the season, the Pinstripers have gone 21-23. They have been unable to bring things back on track. Thus, if the Yankees continue to falter, it might reduce World Series chances despite Judge\’s MVP season. Chances are that the three-time Silver Slugger might look for a new team after all at the end of the season.
