The fifth game of the American Division League Series was a delight within itself. The New York Yankees played against Cleveland Guardians and secured a grand win. The Yankees barely escaped elimination in the fourth game, but they comprehensively won the game on Tuesday against the Guardians.

Yankees Roll Over The Guardians!

The New York Yankees prevailed at home in Game 5 of the American League Division Series after five tense contests. Only one divisional series, against the Cleveland Guardians, was so closely contested that a fifth game was necessary, with the host team ultimately winning. When manager Aaron Boone decided to start Nestor Cortes over Jameson Taillon with three days\’ rest following Monday night\’s weather delay, he succeeded in taking a chance.

Now, the next step of the series will take place in the American League Championship Series between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. The Yankees hope to return to the World Series for the first time since 2009 and seek revenge for their 2019 ALCS loss to the Astros. The third seed in the American League going into the postseason was Cleveland.

New York Yankees\’ outstanding starting pitcher Nestor Cortes won the game\’s MVP award. He dominated the Guardians throughout the game, allowing New York to maintain its lead into the later innings. Cortes only had two strikeouts. But by taking up innings, he kept the Guardians scoreless and gave the Yankee bullpen a break. In the second inning, Aaron Judge hit a solo home run to give New York the win because the Guardians managed just one run all game.

A major league record, Cleveland has dropped 11 consecutive games in the playoffs elimination round. The Guardians didn\’t request a video review in the fourth inning when Andrés Giménez outdistanced a diving Anthony Rizzo to the first-base bag because the early deficit rattled them.

Gleyber Torres Mocks Josh Naylor!

Josh Naylor of the Guardians blasted a home run off of the New York Yankees a few days ago. And he gave the rock-the-baby motion to show his joy. In the game on Sunday, he called the pitcher Gerrit Cole his kid. The situation changed, though, just two days later.

In the fifth ALDS game on Tuesday, the Yankees triumphed over Guardian. Gleyber Torres completed the insult by imitating Naylor\’s own action when the second baseman recorded the final out of the game following the dramatic triumph over the Guardians. The slogan for the devoted Bronx supporters is nothing new, but it has not been used recently. It was Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez.
