New York Yankees’ newest addition, Carlos Rodon, dropped truth bombs on the team’s true potential this season.

The Bronx Bombers made several significant moves in the off-season to strengthen their roster, including re-signing star slugger Aaron Judge and signing left-hand pitcher Carlos Rodon. These moves, along with the team’s existing talent, have many fans and analysts predicting a deep postseason run for the team in 2023, possibly the long-awaited World Series win.

However, Carlos Rodon, who signed a six-year contract worth $162 million with the Yankees in free agency, is making sure not to seem carried away by the team’s talent on paper. In a recent interview with MLB Network, he emphasized the need to focus on the process of playing good baseball rather than getting tangled up in outside expectations or predictions.

The New York Yankees made a substantial addition to their roster this off-season. Former San Francisco Giants pitcher, Carlos Rodon, opted out of his two-year contract and signed with the Yankees in a massive six-year contract worth $162 million. Further, the southpaw brought in a lot of expectations to New York, considering his last season’s numbers. Moreover, the Yankees will begin their quest for a championship in March, and Rodon will be an important piece of the puzzle for the team.

Meanwhile, this year, the expectations from the Yankees’ pitching rotation and the overall roster are pretty high. Carlos Rodon, for once, understands the hype but wants to maintain his ground. He said that while the Yankees lineup looks good on paper, it is important to show up on the field and perform at the highest level. Moreover, Rodon believes being good on paper and on the ground are two completely different stories. Hence, one must not judge the potential of a roster just by the names on the paper. Meanwhile, Rodon is yet to make his spring training debut for the Yankees this season. Earlier, he took an active part in practice sessions.

While most of the regular New York Yankees players have already begun their 2023 campaign, the dynamic pitching duo of Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon are yet to take the field. Despite taking an active part in pre-season practice sessions, both pitchers are being held back due to workload management. The Yankees front office has decided to delay spring training debuts of injury-prone players to keep the healthy for the regular season.

However, as per the latest developments, Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon will likely make their debuts later this week, possibly on Saturday. The Yankees have two games on Saturday, against the Tigers and the Rays. While the New York Yankees dominated the Tigers but faced a humiliating 12-0 loss against the Rays. The spring training will go on until March 29, and the 2023 MLB season will commence on March 30.
