The New York Yankees traded veteran infielder Josh Donaldson from the Minnesota Twins in a mega package deal. The veteran was in the midst of a hot streak when the Bombers made the plunge. Without a doubt, the front office thought of it as the team’s best interest. However, the highly skilled and experienced office bearers should have evaluated better.

Josh Donaldson has been an absolute disaster since donning the pinstripes. After a subpar performance last season, the veteran hit a new low this year. In an injury-riddled season, Donaldson featured in mere 33 games wherein he hit .142 with 10 home runs, 15 RBIs, and .659 OPS before falling prey to another calf injury. Meanwhile, the latest reports suggest the veteran could return this season.

New York Yankees veteran infielder Josh Donaldson fell prey to a calf injury last month, which put his future participation in the season in jeopardy. Donaldson himself confirmed that he probably tore the calf tissue, which will take months to heal. However, the latest visuals from the Tropicana Field showed the veteran ramping up his rehab work. Upon asking about Donaldson’s status, manager Aaron Boone said the veteran is working towards a rehab assignment. Hence, a potential return is definitely on the cards. Meanwhile, the skipper’s latest update came as a shock to many fans who thought that the veteran’s business in the Bronx was done and dusted. Moreover, the club’s move to promote Oswald Peraza and field him regularly at third base confirmed the same.

However, it seems the Yankees had different plans after all. Aaron Boone was further quizzed as to why the team is bothered to clear up roster space for Josh Donaldson, whose contributions have remained close to negligible throughout the season. To this, Boone responded, saying that the veteran has been making all the necessary efforts to put himself in contention for a return. They still have two weeks to figure out what is the best fit for the team. However, the fans were not convinced at all. The dejected supporters took to social media and ridiculed the franchise’s nonsensical move. The fans want Peraza to continue receiving his much-deserved chances, as Donaldson has been nothing but a liability. It would be interesting to see what the Yank’s next move would be.

Yankees Podcaster Suggest Luis Severino To Leave The Franchise On A High

Luis Severino, once regarded as the New York Yankees promising talent, has been a failure this season. He leaked more than six runs for many games in a row. However, recently, Severino redeemed himself by pitching six scoreless innings against the Washington Nationals. He walked out to a standing ovation, which should be a sign for the pitcher to leave the franchise on a happy note. This is what Yankee podcaster Jomboy believes.

Jomboy said that he wants Luis Severino’s last moments with the Yankees to be a happy memory. He added that Severino should look to ace the starts he has left this season and leave the Bronx on a high. The pitcher has been an asset for long. But it’s time for him to leave and restart his career elsewhere. It’s worth noting that Severino is an impending free agent who is expected to be released by the Bombers next off-season.
