Juan Soto is a new hero for the fans of the New York Yankees. The fans will want him to be part of this franchise for a long time to come. But the next offseason will determine where the All-Star hitter will go or stay in 2025. However, before he enters free agency, he would love to help the NY side end their World Series drought. Can he do it this year? Moreover, the team looks good and is more balanced, with the additions of Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo, Marcus Stroman, and so on. Last year was a disaster for the Bronx Bombers.

Hence, the Yankees Faithful have a lot of faith and hope for the Aaron Judge-Juan Soto duo. However, the American League MVP in 2022 had a very slow start to the 2024 season. It has been a big concern for the fans. On the other hand, Juan Soto had a dream start for the NY Yankees. That has led the fans to believe that the Dominican slugger is a worthy contender for the 2024 AL MVP. But Soto thinks it is very early to claim that.

On Friday, during the series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays, the crowd at the Yankee Stadium was chanting “MVP” for the Dominican superstar. That’s how they greeted Juan Soto. Later, in the seventh inning, the four-time Silver Slugger winner reciprocated the “MVP” chants of the crowd by hitting a three-run home run. Moreover, the new Yankees superstar led the team’s come-from-behind victory. In the process, Juan Soto continued the remarkable beginning of his journey as a Yankee. As the Dominican superstar hit the three-run home run, it became hard to silence the crowd. The “MVP” chant reverberated throughout the ballpark in the Bronx.

Anyhow, in the post-game interview, as per YES Network, Juan Soto played it down as he mentioned that it is way too early for that. However, he noted that it felt great. The lefty slugger added, “They support me every day. Day in and Day out. It’s an amazing feeling.” However, things might get difficult as the Tampa Bay Rays win the next game. It will be crucial to beat the Rays in the series finale. Only then can the Yankees win another series. The second game on Saturday saw an offensive failure that led to the 2-0 loss to the Rays. Moreover, the team will need the Judge-Soto duo to be at their finest.

Albeit the NY side has star hitters like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, it is the 25-year-old Dominican superstar who’s leading their offense. Moreover, the former San Diego Padres outfielder already hit five home runs, donning the Pinstripes uniform. He also has 20 RBIs after 20 games, along with 18 walks in the 2024 season. When Juan Soto hit the three-run home run in the seventh inning, he helped the Yankees enjoy a 5-1 lead. Right after that hit, he became emotional as he let out a roar to celebrate that homer.

Soto’s partner in baseball crime, Aaron Judge, had a pumped reaction as he greeted him. Several teammates cheered from the dugout. Later, as per Talkin Yanks, Juan Soto said that his team’s reaction was just great. Moreover, he added that the team feels like a family right now. They stick together and enjoy each other’s success. But Aaron Boone said he wasn’t noticing all those celebrations. Instead, he was looking at where the ball was going to land.
