In a recent move to strengthen the front office, the New York Yankees have decided to bring Brian Sabean back into the fold after almost 40 years.

The New York Yankees have been on a quest for the World Series title for over 13 years now. After missing out on the title by a whisker last season, the team is adamant about crossing the finish line this time around. And to help the agenda, the club is active this offseason, trying to create an impactful overhaul.

In the latest development, the Yankees brought former San Francisco Giants vice president executive Brian Sabean on board. Sabean will be the executive advisor of the Yankee’s General Manager, Brian Cashman. The club made an official announcement regarding the onboarding on Tuesday. Interestingly, Sabean started his career in Baseball with the New York Yankees as a scout before leaving for San Francisco Giants in 1997.

Incidentally, Brian Sabean started his career as a scout for the New York Yankees back in the year 1985. He later moved to San Francisco Giants. However, now Sabean is back again in the Yankees fold after spending 18 seasons with the Giants. Meanwhile, after the official announcement, Brian Sabean appeared before the media via Zoom call and shared his view on rejoining the organization.

Brian Sabean said that it feels surreal to rejoin the very first organization he started out. Sabean further added that he feels humbled by the fact that even at the age of 66, he is relevant. Furthermore, the 66-year-old assured the Yankees fans that he has come with a mindset to do everything in his capacity to help the club clinch yet another World Series title.

“I will do anything to help the Yankees win another World Series and more so,” said Sabean

Can Brain Sabean Bring A Change In Fate For The Yankees?

Yankees

Brian Sabean has a huge legacy in the field of Baseball. After parting ways with the Yankees, the former joined the struggling San Francisco Giants as the general manager of the organization and changed the tide of the Giants. He led the team for 18 straight seasons. Moreover, under his mentorship, the Giants won three of the four World Series titles they appeared in. Further, he parted ways with the Giants after being the longest-serving general manager in the history of the organization.

Hence, the New York Yankees will hope for the same change in fate as the Giants. The Yankees, one of the most consistent performers of MLB, have struggled to get a World Series title in 13 years. The club last held a championship title back in 2009. However, this year, the club is making serious changes and is adamant about the title. Having reinstated Aaron Judge as the captain and bringing in Carlos Rodon and Brian Sabean, the club looks good for the upcoming season.
