Yankees’ Captain Aaron Judge & Oswaldo Cabrera, The New BFFs In Town?

New York Yankees utility player Oswaldo Cabrera shared a wholesome social media post for his captain, Aaron Judge.

Aaron Judge is poised to become one of the greatest athletes the New York Yankees have ever produced. He broke multiple league records in 2022 and took home his first MVP trophy. He even earned a $360 million contract and the captaincy of the 27-time championship-winning team. Hence, this year, apart from being a lethal hitter, the outfielder has an additional responsibility. He has to mentor the next generation of the club.

On the other hand, Oswaldo Cabrera was signed by the Yankees as an international free agent out of Venezuela in 2015. He spent several years in the lower levels of the Yankees minor league system before making his way to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2021. This year, he rose through the competition in spring and earned a much-deserved spot on the lineup. Meanwhile, both the promising talents of the Bombers probably share a strong bond and share massive respect for one another.

Ever since Aaron Judge took over his leadership duties, he has maintained a safe and jolly environment in the Yankees clubhouse. Judge believes the players need to feel comfortable around their teammates, which would eventually boost their confidence. Hence, for a young player like Cabrera, having a mentor like Judge has been invaluable as he navigates his way through the challenges of playing in the major leagues. The duo has been seen goofing around with one another on multiple occasions and apparently share a brotherly bond.

Recently, Oswaldo Cabrera shared an Instagram post where he posted a few pictures of him and Aaron Judge and called him the “King of NY.” To this, Judge responded by referring to him as his brother. The friendship between Judge and Cabrera may seem like an unlikely pairing, given their different levels of fame and experience on the Yankees team. However, it’s a reminder that baseball is a team sport. The players can find common ground and form bonds regardless of their backgrounds. Moreover, as the Yankees continue their 2023 season, it’s clear that Judge and Cabrera will remain close friends and allies on and off the field.

New York Yankees newly minted captain Aaron Judge has found new ways to bond with his teammates this season. Anthony Volpe, the rookie, shared a wholesome gesture made by Judge which moved him completely. Apparently, the outfielder overheard Volpe talking about playing FIFA on PlayStation. However, the shortstop owned an older version.

Hence, Aaron Judge gifted Volpe a fresh PS-5 and challenged him to a FIFA battle, which the rookie eventually lost. Nonetheless, the rookie was in complete awe and said the captain had gone out of his way to make him feel welcomed into the team. He hailed the outfielder’s leadership skills and expressed gratitude for being a part of the team.
