The New York Yankees suffered a humiliating series defeat against the Texas Rangers after losing the rubber game by 15-2 on Sunday. That marked the third consecutive series loss of the season for the Bombers, which eventually landed them in the last place in the AL East table, tied with the Boston Red Sox with a record of 15-14.

The Yankees have nobody but themselves to blame. The offense’s repeated failure, combined with the picture’s inability to hold off the runs, has led to this dismay. The Yankees, who once held the series win streak in the season, now find it difficult to produce basic professional baseball. Naturally, the skipper, Aaron Boone, visibly upset, came down hard on the team after the cruel defeat.

It’s just April, and the New York Yankees have already lost three series and 14 games in total. Undoubtedly, there’s still a long way to go in the season. However, with the current form, the Yankees have a lot to worry about. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Bombers faced one of the most humiliating defeats of the season. Facing Texas Rangers in the final rubber game of the series, the Yankees went down 2-15 as Nestor Cortes and Albert Abreu recorded horrible outings.

Aaron Boone, the Yankees skipper, was left highly disappointed with the outing and lashed out at the team. He urged the players to step up, prepare and compete like professional baseball players. The team right now has its back against the walls, and only they can dig themselves out of it. Moreover, Boone acknowledged that a few batters put together good at-bats but not enough to outclass the fiery Rangers. Lastly, the skipper added that it’s tough to come out of these tricky situations, but as professionals, the players must find a way to get back to winning ways.

The Yankees produced their worst performance of the season on Sunday. The Rangers nearly sealed the game at the bottom of the first inning itself by putting up four runs. However, the worst was yet to arrive for the New York-based team as Texas belted another 11 runs in the second half of the game. At last, the miserable evening came to an end, with the Yankees emerging as the deserved losers.

Not only that, the loss landed the Yankees at the bottom of the AL-East table. MLB podcaster Jared Carrabis took a brutal jibe at the team via the social media website Twitter. He posted a Tweet which read, “Yankees are getting throttled and about to enter the month of May as a last-place team. Damn.” Being a Red Sox supporter, Jared certainly enjoyed the Bombers’ humiliating loss, and his Tweet indicated the same. Nevertheless, the tournament is long, and it’s just May. Hence, the Bombers will have enough time to work on their limitations and make the comeback they are known for.
