Why Yankees’ Fans Are More Than Happy With Carlos Beltran’s Departure From Yes Network?

Carlos Beltran closed the curtains on his professional baseball career in 2017 as a World Series champion with the Houston Astros. Post-retirement, the New York Yankees appointed Carlos as a special advisor to their general manager, Brian Cashman. However, his front-office stint with the Yanks ended in just one season as the former outfielder signed with the Mets as the team’s manager in 2019.

Meanwhile, Carlos Beltran could not even manage one game for the Mets as a sign-stealing scandal cut short his managerial stint. Carlos was named as the main perpetrator of a sign-sealing scandal while playing for the Astros in the 2017 finals. Hence, the Mets and Carlos mutually decided to terminate the contract. Now, three years later, the Mets are all set to welcome the former outfielder back into the front office.

After the New York Mets kicked out Carlos Beltran in the wake of a cheating scandal, the Yankees landed him a job at YES Network and hired him as a game analyst. However, his stint as a broadcaster remained filled with criticism as the Bombers fans were unhappy with his commentary skills. Hence, as soon as the news of his departure came out, the fans were elated and used the social media platform, Twitter, to mock the former outfielder.

A user termed Carlos’ departure as the best move of the Yankees for this off-season. At the same time, another fan called it good riddance. Further, a fan decided to take it a step further and wrote he did not even know about Carlos’ association with the Yankees. Some also referred to him as the worst commentator in the Yes Network’s history. Also, a few users targeted Carlos Beltran over his past scandal, which led to his ouster from the Mets in 2019.

Carlos Beltran Back With The Mets?

After New York Mets fired Carlos Beltran as their manager in the aftermath of a cheating scandal, the former outfielder found shelter at Yes Network as a broadcaster. However, according to the latest rumors, the Mets have made up their mind to welcome Carlos back into the front office. Moreover, the former outfielder has informed Yes Network about his departure. Carlos’ last stint with the Mets ended on a tragic note. The Mets fired Beltran even before he could manage the team for a single game. In 2019, an MLB investigation revealed Carlos orchestrated a sign-cheating scandal during the finals of the 2017 season while representing the Astros. The committee held the outfielder guilty of stealing signs illegally by banging trashcans. Further, Carlos Beltran denied all the allegations. But as the only player held accountable, the outfielder had to issue an apology.
