Red Bull- Ford

Red Bull will serve as the defending F1 champion for the second time in a row when the race season begins at Bahrain Grand Prix in March 2023. With the current champ, Max Verstappen going at full throttle, there will be no stopping. Clearly, it is going to be tough for Mercedes and Ferrari to beat the current champions of Formula One Motorsport. Things are looking really good for Red Bull. Now all the teams are supposed to launch their cars very soon as the season is about to start in no time.

Lately, Christian Horner and his team have announced that they are going to launch their new car in the USA. However, choosing New York as their launch destination obviously sounded dubious for the audience. The reason for this venue to be a little bit suspicious is because of the Ford connection. Experts and fans of Formula One know the history of Red Bull and Ford. Hence everybody is asking the same question, “America, but why?”

History Between Red Bull And Ford: Is That The Reason?

Back in the day, Ford had a team racing in the Formula One Grid. But after their unsuccessful campaign with Jaguar, they sold the team to Red Bull. However, with the same team, the Orange team managed to win quite a few driver’s and constructor’s titles. So the question arises is the launching venue a sign of a renewed connection between Red Bull and Ford?

Red Bull is looking for a new engine partner anyway. Honda and Porsche were the two partners for the new engines until the last season. But it was revealed that the Austrian team would tie knots with a new partner for their machines. There are a lot of rumors that Audi might be the latest entry in Red Bull’s engine partner list. However, the venue for launching new cars is bringing Ford into the equation for obvious reasons.

It was also reported that the new engine partner would be revealed in the New Car Launch Event. So the possible renewal of the Ford-Red Bull connection in F1 motorsport is getting stronger. The reason for choosing New York City as the car launch for the Milton Keynes-based team is the question of the day. In recent times, Formula One has gained an immense fan following in the USA. Is that the only reason for Red Bull to launch on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean?

Other Important Reasons For Choosing New York

Another important point for the particular venue might be the title sponsor of the Red Bull team, Oracle, a software company based in the United States Of America. The headquarter of the Oracle company is in Texas, but still, New York City is a much more convenient option than the UK for the title sponsors to get to the launch of the RB19 cars.

The other reason might be the city itself. Undoubtedly, New York City is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. It would really give opportunities for clicking some distinctive images. The drivers might even want to take the cars for a spin on the New York streets, and it won’t be the first time for a driver to do so. Sergio Perez, the Mexican driver for Red Bull Racing, did it last year as well, as Sebastian Vettel back when he was the reigning F1 champion for Red Bull did in 2012.
