Max Verstappen has been an unstoppable force of nature for the past two years. He has broken numerous records and helped Red Bull get back their domination on the F1 grid. Indeed, the cost cap era saw a change in domination. Like the last time in the turbo-hybrid era, Mercedes overpowered Red Bull who used to dominate from 2010 to 2013. From 2014 to 2021, it was the period of the hegemony of the German team.

Later, in 2022, the Austrian team regained their hegemony since 2013. But the 2022 season saw Max Verstappen rise into an indomitable force. The Dutch driver has joined the elite group of three-time champions that has the names of the greats, Jackie Stewart and Ayrton Senna alike. When everything is going so great for the 26-year-old star driver in F1, people are raising questions about the ever-so-brave and bold Max Verstappen. But the Red Bull boss defends his team’s star driver.

Max Verstappen has always been open about his issues with the ever-extending F1 calendar. He never hides his feelings about the new F1 rules and regulations. Moreover, Max caught the headlines when he said the Las Vegas GP was 99% show and 1% sport. Naturally, this statement didn’t sit well with a lot of people from F1 and even outside. However, after the final 50 laps of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Max was singing the Elvis Presley song, “Viva Las Vegas.” Later, fans called him a hypocrite. Moreover, when Max Verstappen keeps complaining about a lot of issues that may bother him, Helmut Marko fears it might anger the investors. Despite what the Red Bull advisor fears, the team principal doesn’t like to boss his drivers around.

He definitely doesn’t like to stop his drivers from sharing their opinions. Recently, Christian Horner mentioned in an interview with Motorsport that he doesn’t like to think his drivers are robots. They may have opinions and are free to express their choices. Max Verstappen is a world champion, and as a champion, Horner thinks he can make himself heard. That’s why the Red Bull boss says that he doesn’t want to impose any PR training on Max Verstappen. Moreover, Horner likes the fact that Max is young, honest and will say whatever he thinks.

Previously, the record for most wins in a season was 13 for a driver. It belonged to the German greats Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. But in 2022, the Dutch driver went on to win 15 races. If that was not enough to prove that Verstappen is the best racer on the grid in modern times, then the last season must have sealed the deal forever.

In 2023, the Dutch driver had again another invincible season, but it was even better than the previous one. Verstappen went on to win an epic 19 races. He helped the Austrian outfit win 21 races in 2023. It was some next level of domination ever seen in Formula One. Later, Red Bull enjoyed back-to-back titles, and so did Max. It was the Dutchman’s third world championship.
