What Will Happen If The Yankees Loose Aaron Judge?

There is a non-zero probability that Aaron Judge may leave the Yankees, despite their best efforts to re-sign him to a long-term contract during the winter. Brian Cashman, the general manager, has big plans for the winter that revolve around the free-agent outfielder. Cashman won\’t have much money left over if the slugger is re-signed. This is because a third outfielder and bullpen help are two additional needs for the team. 

If Judge opts to move to the west, Cashman will have a huge gap to fill in the lineup and plenty of cash to make it happen. Jim Bowden of The Athletic expects that the Yankees will rapidly change course if Judge is not re-signed. They\’ll make an effort to sign an outfielder like Brandon Nimmo in addition to pitchers Justin Verlander or Jacob deGrom.

The Yankees and New York Mets are two teams Mark Feinsand lists as probable suitors for three-time Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander. The Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Los Angeles Dodgers are among the other organizations Feinsand lists as interested in signing Verlander. DeGrom is rumored to be interested in Max Scherzer\’s record-breaking three-year, $130 million deal. He signed it last year with the Mets.

According to sources, Nimmo is visiting clubs in person. And some teams have said they would relocate their centerfielder to the corner to make room for Nimmo. Martino claims that the Mets, Yankees, and Colorado Rockies. And Blue Jays are among the clubs who are interested, though this is by no means a full list. Keep in mind that the Mets have made it clear that they intend to re-sign Nimmo. He is said to be the club\’s main target after closer Edwin Diaz renewed his contract earlier this month.
